Rectilinear Motion (1-d Motion) Formulas For Jee ,Neet-ug

Rectilinear Motion formula sheet PDF  class 11 physics for IIT JEE Mains and Advanced , NEET UG

Rectilinear motion
If the motion of a body is along a straight line, it is said to be the rectilinear or linear motion.
-  1-Dimentional motion

For eg - Pushing of Box

Basic Formulas :

U = initial velocity,

v = final velocity

A = acceleration,

s = displacement,

T = time of travel

Graphs in Uniformly Accelerated Motion along a straight line (a not equal to 0) :

x-t graph -

x is a quadratic polynomial in terms of t. Hence x vs t graph is a parabola.

V-T Graph -

V is a linear polynomial in terms of t. Hence v-t graph is a straight line of slope "a"

A-T Graph -
a-t graph is a horizontal line because a is constant.

Maxima And Minima :

Equations of Motion (for constant acceleration):

For freely falling bodies : (u = 0)
(taking upward direction as positive)
Equations become:
